The Beginning: A Passion for Learning and Growth
From a young age, I was always drawn to the idea of creation and strategy. Whether it was piecing together ideas for a business, exploring technology, or simply finding ways to optimize everyday tasks, my mind was wired for problem-solving and thinking outside the box.
I pursued my education in Business Administration, earning an Associate’s degree from Tyler Junior College and later a Bachelor’s degree in Management from the University of Texas at Tyler. During this time, I immersed myself in the world of leadership, strategy, and operations, gaining a deep understanding of how businesses function and how innovation drives success.
Even before graduating, I was eager to apply my knowledge in real-world settings. I wasn’t content with just learning theories—I wanted to test strategies, experiment with digital tools, and understand how branding, marketing, and management came together. This mindset set the foundation for the professional journey that followed.
The Exploration Phase: Freelancing, Digital Marketing & Administrative Mastery
While many of my peers pursued traditional career paths, I carved my own way by diving into freelancing and self-employment. Instead of waiting for opportunities, I created them by offering my skills to individuals who needed guidance in marketing, branding, content creation, and digital strategy.
Freelance Digital Marketing Consultant (2021 - 2022)
One of my most active freelancing roles was as a Digital Marketing Consultant, where I worked with approximately 40 individuals, coaching them on how to use social media, grow their brands, and develop creative ways to stand out in an increasingly digital world. Some of these individuals needed guidance for just a few days, while others worked with me for weeks or months.
My approach wasn’t just about teaching the basics of social media—it was about helping people think differently. I encouraged clients to break away from conventional marketing techniques and embrace storytelling, audience engagement, and innovative content creation.
This role allowed me to:
✔ Develop strategies tailored to individuals rather than businesses.
✔ Enhance my skills in social media growth and branding.
✔ Use tools like ChatGPT, Canva, and automation platforms to streamline content and improve workflow.
✔ Learn how to coach and guide people effectively.
E-Commerce Marketing & Operations Specialist (2019 - 2021)
My freelancing work also extended into e-commerce marketing and operations, where I assisted individuals in understanding how to sell online, optimize product listings, and leverage social media for sales.
During this period, I helped individuals:
✔ Set up online stores and improve product visibility.
✔ Develop email and social media marketing strategies.
✔ Analyze sales trends and customer behavior.
Though this was an off-and-on role, it gave me valuable experience in digital commerce, marketing trends, and data-driven decision-making.
Content Creator & Copywriter (2016 - 2019)
Long before digital marketing became my main focus, I was already working on content creation and storytelling. I spent time writing, refining brand messages, and understanding how words influence perception.
This role helped me develop:
✔ The ability to craft compelling narratives for different audiences.
✔ A deep understanding of branding and messaging strategies.
✔ Creative problem-solving skills through engaging storytelling.
Each of these freelancing roles allowed me to sharpen my ability to work independently, develop innovative strategies, and build strong connections with people looking to grow their skills.
Expanding My Horizons: Project & Administrative Management
While digital marketing and content creation were key areas of expertise, I also worked extensively in administrative and project management.
For over a decade (2013 - Present), I have been working as a Freelance Project & Administrative Manager, helping friends, family, and individuals manage scheduling, operations, budgeting, and logistics.
Some of the key aspects of this role include:
✔ Managing schedules, workflow processes, and operations for various projects.
✔ Overseeing financial planning, budgeting, and expense tracking.
✔ Coordinating event planning, travel logistics, and administrative tasks.
✔ Providing marketing, branding, and customer engagement strategies.
This role allowed me to balance creativity with structure, giving me the ability to blend marketing expertise with operational efficiency.
A Growing Online Presence & Digital Branding
Beyond working with clients, I also built my MY TIKTOK channel through content creation and social media growth. One of my most significant personal projects was my TikTok channel (@DisneyIf), where I grew an audience of over 16,000 followers.
Through this experience, I learned:
✔ How to build and maintain an engaged audience.
✔ The power of storytelling in digital content.
✔ The importance of consistency and audience interaction.
Even though I later pivoted from that platform, the skills I gained in digital branding, videography, and community-building remain valuable assets in my career.
Where I Am Now & The Next Chapter
Since August 2023, I have continued freelancing, contracting, and expanding my skills in different areas. The job market has been tough, but instead of waiting for the perfect opportunity, I took charge by:
✔ Continuing to offer digital marketing and administrative support to individuals.
✔ Exploring new ways to combine branding, AI, and automation to streamline workflows.
✔ Building a website portfolio to showcase my work and expand my opportunities.
As I move forward, my goal is to transition into a full-time role where I can leverage my expertise in:
Marketing & Branding Strategy – Helping businesses and individuals build strong, recognizable brands.
Content Creation & Social Media Growth – Developing engaging campaigns that drive community engagement.
Project Management & Digital Operations – Optimizing processes, workflows, and business strategies.
In the long term, I want to build a personal brand that helps people and businesses succeed through strategic storytelling, branding, and operational efficiency. Whether it’s through digital marketing, coaching, or business consulting, I want to continue helping people bring their ideas to life.
The journey has been anything but traditional, but every experience has built a foundation for creativity, problem-solving, and adaptability. Now, I’m ready for the next challenge—turning everything I’ve learned into something even bigger.
Final Thoughts
From freelancing and digital marketing to administrative management and content creation, my journey has been about learning, adapting, and creating opportunities.
